Junior Foursomes

Conditions of Play and Qualification.

  1. Each Member County of the South Eastern Group is eligible to enter a team.
  2. Play will be a series of 4 rounds “round robin” matches played over 2 days.
  3. Each series will be 3-ball foursomes played over 18 holes under match play rules for three ball matches as set out in Rule 30 of the Rules of Golf.
  4. Each County will play two other Counties in each series. Each individual match won will count one point, halved matches counting ½ point. The maximum points available therefore in any one series is six.
  5. Counties may name 7 players and may change their three foursomes’ pairings from these players each day both morning and afternoon.
  6. Pairings must be submitted to the Secretary by 16.00 hours on the day preceding the Tournament and at least 30 minutes before each series commences and once submitted may not be altered without the consent of Championship Committee (three to form a quorum), whose decision shall be final.
  7. Age limit is under 18 at 00.00 hours on the first day of January in the year of the event.
  8. Players must walk in when their match is completed.
  9. Method of Scoring

           Match points

           Winning County - 2 match points.

           Halved matches - Each County gains 1 match point.

           Losing County           - 0 match points.

           Game points

           Each individual game in each match.

           1 point for a win, ½  point for a halved match, 0 point for a loss.

           The winning County shall be the County with the highest number of MATCH POINTS.

           In the event of an overall tie on match points the result will be determined in sequence upon.-

           i) the overall games won and then ii) the individual match result of the tied Counties.

           Should this fail to determine the winning County, the title shall be shared.

    10.  Any County wishing to enter, or withdraw, from the Competition must give a minimum period of three months' notice of its intent.
    11.  If ten Counties enter, the County with the lowest number of points in the preceding year will be eliminated.
    12.  If eleven Counties enter, the two Counties with the lowest number of points in the preceding year will be eliminated.
    13.  The SEG Committee agree that this competition cannot be run other than on a course with two convenient starting points close to the clubhouse.
    14.  The EGU hard card will apply to this event
