SOUTHERN COUNTIES SENIORS FOURSOMES TOURNAMENT
Rules
Open to members of Golf Clubs, affiliated to a County Golf Union, aged 55 years and over on the first day of the Tournament. To represent a county in any South Eastern Group event, a player must have his ’home club’ in the county that he is representing.
The 16 Counties participating will be divided into the following 4 areas.

Preliminary rounds.(To be played on a weekday before the 31st August.)
Each County Union will select a team of 10 players.
All preliminary rounds and the final will be played according to the 2018 format contained in the following pages.
Each area will provide an "area winner" to compete in the Final.
Ties. In the event of a team tie, the highest number of “holes-up when a match was completed” will count – for example a 7&6 victory will count 7 whereas a 2&1 victory will count 2.
If still not decided, the number of holes-up (as above) in the matches between the tied counties will count.
If still not resolved the scores of individual matches between the tied counties will count, starting with the first match and if still a tie, matches by descending order.
The use of buggies will not be allowed.
Final rounds(to be played on a weekday before the end of September)
The draw for the Final will be automatic and rotate as follows. –
Year1 North East will be County A, South East will be County B, South will be County C and West will be County D
Year 2. North East will remain as County A, South will Be County B, West will be County C and South East will be County D
Year3 North East will remain as County A, West will be County B, South East will be County C and South will be County D
And so on
In the final rounds, ONE substitution will be permitted if a player is injured or becomes unwell during the morning round.
Administration
The Tournament Committee will be provided by the S.E. Group whose decisions will be final.
It is the duty of County Unions organising the Preliminary rounds to advise match results to the S.E. Group Secretary.
Preliminary rounds: Each County to provide a venue every 4th year or 8th year as required.
Final: Each County to provide a venue normally every 16th year.
S.E. Group Secretary will provide a rota document and arrange finals with the Host County
